Top Gear Reviews Nissan's Upcoming Lineup

You may have heard the buzz about Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson's recent review of the Nissan Leaf as well as the rest of Nissan's new lineup. According to Clarkson, the upcoming Nissan lineup was all to "boring." However, we at Boardwalk Nissan in Redwood City, California strongly disagree, as does Nissan PR.
For those of you that don't know, Top Gear is one of the best known car review shows, hosted on the BBC Network. Though, this isn't the first time Clarkson has been accused of inaccurate reviews. Many Top Gear viewers have a love-hate relationship with Clarkson, saying that he doesn't always review the cars, but instead spends the entire time trashing them.
Nissan PR chief Tom Barnard commented on Clarkson's review of the Leaf's battery life, saying that it contained "inaccuracies". Barnard went on, further explaining "The presenters' suggestion that the Leaf battery would be scrap after three years is plain wrong".1
"Other than that part we actually quite liked the review. They said lots of good things about the Leaf. But other media - who love to hate Top Gear it seems - leapt on this and said we had been moaning about the whole feature. There's a reason we feel passionately about the Leaf," he wrote. "We feel we need to be first with EV technology, even if it means we have to take a few punches at the beginning."2
