Nissan Rogue Soon to Be Made in the U.S.A

The Rogue crossover is one of Nissan Motor Co.'s most frequently manufactured vehicles. And soon, production will move from Japan to America, specifically Smryna, Tennessee. Following the move, which coincides with the redesign of the Rogue in 2012, Nissan's Tennessee assembly plant plans to put out 100,000 per year.

Carlos Taveres, Chairman of Nissan Americas, revealed the plan before a Society of Automotive Analysts conference in Detroit, indicating that, in North America, Nissan intends to cut its reliance on imported vehicles from 30 percent in 2010 to 15 percent in 2015. Nissan to Return to Detroit Auto Show in 2012

Nissan has been absent from the Detroit Auto show for nearly three years now, but that is soon to change for 2012. Nissan Motor co. will return to the show in 2012 as an exhibitor. Nissan Americas Chairman, Carlos Tavares, made the pledge in a statement issues by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association on Sunday, January 9, 2011.
