FedEx Takes Nissan NV200 for a Spin

Nissan's NV200 delivery van hit UK streets this month where FedEx will be testing the all electric NV's in use. After two months on the move, Nissan will evaluate the van's response to real world situations.

Nissan NV200 replace the stock driveline "with the electric running gear from the Nissan Leaf. Nissan doesn't say if this application has different specs than the Leaf, which has a 107 horsepower/207 pound-feet electric motor, an EPA-estimated 73 miles to a charge, and a charge time of seven hours at a 240-volt outlet."1

There are many benefits to driving an electric delivery vehicle in the crowded urban cityscape of London. Low speeds keep this vehicle's drive range high. Operating a car or truck considered "green" will allow FedEx UK, as well as other companies or private owners, a substantial tax credit from their government.
